God History
Ivrix himself was a human who died in the Sus’Laru war by the Mara’Kai Prince Xissit while attempting to defend civilians from the Mara’Kai’s legions. In the moment that Ivrix, a spy, heard that the truth of Xissit’s intentions was to attack and kill the Overlord Delakost during a Peace council, he intervened at the cost of his life. Xissit, a true Seer, foresaw this event and found Ivrix and struck him down upon him entering the Peace Circle formed by Lira’Lorn before he could speak. With his dying breath, Ivrix cast a “Revelation”, a powerful spell illuminating everything that was in his mind to those around him. They saw the intention and evil in Xissit’s heart and he was cast out.
Due to the Gap in the Fire Realm, the “Tilt” Delakost, saw his sacrifice and read his heart’s intention and granted him Godhood as the Lord of Fire. This was a shock to the God Council for this had never been done before. It has always been the one who sat the Throne that was blessed. To this day, Ivrix is looked at with jealousy by the other Gods for they believe Delakost has a purpose behind this act.
Ivrix frequently shows himself as multiple different colored flames, depending on his mood and message to get across. His churches are usually constructed in great architecture with stylized windows, awnings, ceilings and rooms. Typically, a statue of a fire cloud, with a halo in the middle and light coming down from the cloud is depicted for his statues or monoliths. It is common to see redish light illuminating an object of some sort.
Location
The Church of Ivrix is abundant throughout the land of Kroiya and can easily be found even amongst the smallest of villages and towns. The church's mission is to seek the truth and pursue it with fervor. Its Priests have many duties and the church is divided up as such.
Influence
One sect of the church is solely used as a means of legality. In smaller villages and towns, a Purifier may be called upon to settle a dispute or case amongst the populace. It is agreed upon, by anyone who uses their services, that their decision is final and taken as a permanent settlement. While some may have an issue with this, very rarely has a mistake been made when a Purifier is involved.
For the legality of a larger areas or cities, a Purifier and Revelator may be called to seek the truth and bring their own independent investigation results to the court or ruling body. Due to small fees, at times free, the church has become the go to knowing that their Ethos of truth can be relied upon for accuracy.
Some cases have been presented where when the church is contacted, an individual has immediately changed their story and pleaded guilty due to not wanting to go through the humiliation and time of talking to a Purifier.
While this serves as a large part of the church’s time, a smaller part is given the task of finding the truth of world or political matters. It is rarely discussed or talked about when a Lord or King or business asks the church to find out information about a sensitive subject or information on a person. This is an interesting conundrum, for the Priest themselves cannot lie about such a matter.
Political opponents or business rivals have called upon the church to seek dark materials, dirty pasts or secrets hidden to ensure they can capitalize on their opponent’s misgivings or checkered pasts. An even smaller amount of the church uses their desire and resources to seek the truth of organizations, empires and kingdoms or just myths lost to time. This contingent is rarely heard or seen for they are few, but it is rumored and believed that this sect is responsible for many governments and world changing events.
